Feel free to contact us about any payment questions!

Missed or Cancelled Lessons

There are no refunds for missed or cancelled lessons**

All lessons for students under the age of 18 must be held with an adult present in the household who is 18 years of age or older. If this does not happen, the teacher will not be able to teach and it will count as a missed lesson.

If you are sick or need to cancel, teachers will do their best to schedule a makeup lesson, but it is not required if their schedule does not permit a day and time for a makeup lesson. Lessons may also be made-up during the “Off-Weeks” depending on teacher availability.

We stick to this policy because our teachers have committed to their teaching schedule and rely on being paid for lessons on their schedule. This policy allows us to keep great teachers at our studio.

For Summer Semester, you can submit dates you plan to be gone without being charged for those missed lessons. A form will be emailed for you to fill out the specific dates you DON'T want lessons. This form must be submitted no later than May 17th to count towards your Summer Semester. Any forms submitted after May 17th will not be taken into consideration, and you will be charged for any missed lessons.

**If there is a teacher-caused cancellation that a teacher is unable to be reschedule, you will be refunded for the missed lesson.

Materials

For piano, our studio typically uses the Piano Adventures (Faber) method books. You will need to purchase a Lesson, Technique and Artistry, Theory, and Performance book. Your instructor will tell you which level you need to purchase as each level is completed  (about $25-$30 every 4-6 months).

If you are a transfer student, it will be determined whether or not it would be best to keep you in your current piano method books or have you switch to Piano Adventures.

For all other instruments, teachers will determine the necessary materials needed.

Equipment

For piano lessons, students need either an acoustic piano or a digital with 88 full-size keys at home. Digital pianos must be weighted and touch-sensitive with a pedal.

Students will need a violin for violin lessons, or an acoustic guitar for guitar lessons. Contact us with questions.

Practicing

Practice is vital to progress! Instructors will provide specifics of practicing best tailored for each student.

Please come prepared to each piano lesson. There isn't much an instructor can do to help a student progress if they do not practice. For parents, you deserve to get your money's worth out of piano lessons and your child deserves to have a fun progressive experience. This is all accomplished with consistent practice.

We understand things come up, but if practicing becomes a consistent issue you will be asked to resign from our music studio.

Recitals

Recital participation is highly encouraged. Our students work hard, and each recital is treated as a celebration for the progress they have made throughout the semester. Students have the opportunity to play in three recitals throughout the year.

Miscellaneous Information

Our goals for music lessons are to build solid foundations in technique, sight-reading, theory, ear training, and musicality. We also incorporate supplemental sheet music to allow students to pick songs they like to play!

Media Release

Unless requested in writing, Traveling Keys Music Studio is granted permission to take photographs/videos of the students to use in promotional materials Traveling Keys Music creates.

Please contact us if any questions or concerns arise. Thank you for your confidence and support!

We look forward to your success!
